Fajardo, Manuel star in Beermen opening day win

June Mar Fajardo bullied his way to a double-double as he paced San Miguel Beer to a 108-100 victory over Phoenix in the PBA Philippine Cup at the Smart Araneta Coliseum Wednesday night.,The Beermen behemoth finished with a game-high 24 points, pulled down 15 rebounds and added six assists as SMB debuted on a high note.,Vic Manuel provided another muscle for the Beermen as he scored 24 points and three rebounds, while CJ Perez had 19 markers, six rebounds and four steals. Chris Ross displayed his vintage form with 17 points, 12 assists and seven boards.,Prior to their win, Fajardo announced his new fund-raising campaign dedicated to her mother, who passed away last year.,The 6-foot-10 big man vowed that he will be donating P200 on every point he makes this season, while he will dole out a P1000 on every three-point field goal he converts.,Fajardo also intends to give out P100,000 should the Beermen make it to the finals in any conference this year.
